Registration for "Wallpaper Groups (MS)"

July 6, 10am to 3 pm
This camp explores the math behind wallpaper patterns and repeating designs. Students will investigate symmetry, shapes, and transformations, discovering that there are only 17 possible types of patterns in the plane. This provides a window into group theory, an advanced area of math that helps us study abstract common structures. (Target Audience: MSA students)
Students will bring their own lunch and drinks to camp




Where: NYU Courant Institute, 251 Mercer St (map). Room TBD.
Instructor: Ailie Woods.
Registration fee: $160. (Fee may be reduced based on financial need; see FAQ).

Parental consent is required. If the cost presents a financial hardship for your family, you can request a fee reduction on the next page.
