Registration for "Cryptography and "Secret Codes (MS)"

July 9, 10am to 3 pm Ever wanted to send hidden messages or crack secret codes? In this mini camp, you’ll learn classic ciphers like Caesar and Vigenère. We’ll also look at the historic Enigma machine, why it was so difficult to break, and how mathematicians eventually cracked it. Finally, we’ll start to dig into modern cryptosystems and talk about how math keeps our private information safe today. Through challenges and puzzles, you’ll see how math has shaped the world of secret communication and test your own codebreaking skills! Target audience: Elementary School and Middle School students..
