Registration for "Babylonian Math (MS)"

July 8, 10am to 3 pm This camp explores how the Babylonians, over 3,000 years ago, used a base-60 number system. Students will discover why this system was chosen and how it impacted the study of fractions, geometry, timekeeping, and astronomy. They will solve problems using Babylonian-style methods, explore patterns in numbers, and see the effects of a different number system. (Target Audience: MSA students) Students will bring their own lunch and drinks to camp |
